This rough opal was mined by us on the Dead Horse Gully opal field of Coober Pedy Australia.

WEIGHT: 21.5 carats, weighed dry.
These are medium yield rubbed pieces.
These stones should cut 8-10 carats of small solids, doublets, inlay or intarsia etc.
PLEASE NOTE: There are a few natural cleaves in the back of the round piece that could be left in or it could be split into 2 or three stones, it would still have good integrity as one stone in my opinion (professional cutter of over 30 years).
Use the ruler as your guide to size (INCHES)
We do not sell opal simulants of ANY sort. All of our opal is 100% guaranteed Natural Australian Opal.
The color variations in some photos are due to different light angles and distances. All of our auctions are photographed with macro settings under a halogen lamp. In all photo's the opal is immersed.
Please check the dimensions carefully as the opal will not be as big in your hand as it looks on your monitor! Please check the description carefully before bidding and view your purchased rough opal wet in sunlight or in a dark room with a direct light source ie: desk lamp, down light etc. (As photographed and practiced throughout the opal industry).

Why are users outbidding themselves?
When a bid is placed, this is the maximum amount a person is willing to bid for the product. Our system will then automatically bid on behalf of the bidder, incrementally increasing the bid up to the maximum to maintain their position as the highest bidder.
When there is an icon indicating 'Automatic Bid', it means our system is actively placing bids for the bidder based on their maximum bid. This may appear as if bidders are outbidding themselves, but it's simply a result of the system updating the bid to reflect the bidders maximum limit.
