Folks here is a very exciting Black Opal from Mintabie that is from my stock. I had it cut and I am delighted with the result.
It weighs 2.6 carats, measures 11 x 8 x 3mm.
Body and Blackness based on the 5 point score is 4 for both. Very black and very bright. A very black back on this Opal also.
All I can say is that if your name or the name of your loved one starts with V, you are going to be buying this beautiful Opal from Mntabie that is a very exciting example of Black Opal from that now closed field.
Every color of the rainbow, the body tone is more blue than black. Even the V lights up in places.
This Gem shows good color from all angles, and when its worn as a ring, the V is on display to the wearer. You couldnt make such a piece so perfect, but nature has for you.
