Comments: This is the biggest Ethiopian jewellery grade rough i've put up for auction. It's by no means flawless but what can you expect from a piece of this size? It is very very rare to even find these monsters anymore. I've had this in a bucket of big pieces for a few years now. You can actually see it in the video 'THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO ETHIOPIAN OPALS' on Youtube here: https://youtu.be/HaR-lhiJKZU
So, you can expect this piece to break into pieces when you cut it. If you get lucky and it breaks into four pieces, each one could potentially be 100 carats. So please be aware this will not cut one perfect stone that weighs almost 400 carats, but, will rather cut many smaller stones. Luck will decide how big each stone will cut.
This piece would also make a great specimen to display in your collection. The ultimate hydrophane opal from Welo.
Photos & Videos: taken under natural lighting conditions in our office (sun and shade). No lights, filters, photoshop or enhancements of any kind have been used. What you see is what you get. I've made a video in the shade and another in the sun. Same with photos.
Shipping info: you only pay to ship the first stone. Any additional purchases within 7 days will be added to the package at no additional cost. Please inform us if you want us to wait the seven days before shipping your order (otherwise it will be shipped upon payment and you will not be able to combine with other purchases). All stones shipped from the Czech Republic.
Return policy: when you receive your order - if for any reason you aren't fully satisfied you may return the untouched stones within 10 days for a full refund. Please just drop us a message and include a tracking number. We aim to please and do not want anyone to be unhappy so never hesitate to contact us. Once the stone has been cut, polished or modified in any way it is not possible to return.

Why are users outbidding themselves?
When a bid is placed, this is the maximum amount a person is willing to bid for the product. Our system will then automatically bid on behalf of the bidder, incrementally increasing the bid up to the maximum to maintain their position as the highest bidder.
When there is an icon indicating 'Automatic Bid', it means our system is actively placing bids for the bidder based on their maximum bid. This may appear as if bidders are outbidding themselves, but it's simply a result of the system updating the bid to reflect the bidders maximum limit.
