THEY ARE FORMED AS A RESULT OF PRECIOUS OPAL REPLACING GLAUBERITE [A SULFATE MINERAL] -SUCH SPECIMENS ARE KNOWN AS PSEUDOMOROPHS. AS THEY STILL EXHIBITE THE EXTERNAL CRYSTAL FORM THEY HAVE REPLACED.
