This is a Peru blue opal that has been drilled and it is ideal as the centre piece in a necklace.The drilled hole is small app 1 mm.The stone is very well polished so you will see some reflection from the light we use.

Peruvian opals range in color from very blue to green / blue to an aqua colored blue.
Peruvian blue opal is relatively rare and is only found in the Andes mountains near San Patricio, Peru. It is a very translucent stone with color similar to the Caribbean Sea. Depending on how the stone is cut it can be clear, scenic (showing varying degrees of color) or dendritic which has black fern like inclusions.
This is the national stone of Peru. Dyed stones are quite common and sell a lot cheaper.
