This auction lot includes one randomly selected bag containing three pieces of pre-sliced black porcelain.

This material is ideal for use as backing when making opal doublets. Each slice is typically 3–4 mm thick—perfect for most doublets without needing to adjust the thickness much, if at all.

The porcelain is dark enough to use with standard 330 epoxy, but for best results, I recommend adding a touch of black oxide to deepen the tone slightly.

This porcelain carries the same silicosis risk as cutting opal. Always cut using a well-irrigated system that fully suppresses dust. Never inhale dust from this or any opal-related material.
