WEIGHT: 30 carats, 6 grams or 0 oz 3.9 dwt (troy) weighed dry.

These are medium to high yield pieces of precious opal on a natural smooth matrix backing. .

The pieces we have worked from this claim so far have shown the matrix and solid precious opal from the South Pacific (Old 7 Mile) field of Coober Pedy are of high quality and can be cut in any manner while retaining incredibly hard and stable properties.

These stones should cut 15-17 carats of cabochons with clean faces and slight inclusions in the back of the stones, or stunning doublets or large intarsia / inlay etc. . .

The color variations in some photos are due to different light angles and distances. All of our auctions are photographed with macro settings under a halogen lamp. In all photo's the opal is immersed.

Please check the dimensions carefully as the opal will not be as big in your hand as it looks on your monitor! Please check the description carefully before bidding and view your purchased rough opal wet in sunlight or in a dark room with a direct light source ie: desk lamp, down light etc. (As photographed and practiced throughout the opal industry).
