FAIRY OPAL STONE
This is an opal that is found in the sandstone on the boulder opal fields in Queensland. It has been treated to appear like black opal by being carbonized.
polished with resin finish.
This is a natural stone found on the opal fields in Queensland .It is precious opal embedded in the sandstone. Only by heating it with sugar does it become like black opal. This treatment is permant and goes all through the stone. Resin is added to give it a smooth top class finish which can be difficult on porous material.
