VOLCANIC OPALS

OPAL AND COPPER

 

This is a natural untreated specimen mined in Ojuelos jalisco in Mexico.The silica has traces of copper in it.This stone has been polished by tumbling. As it looks like timber veins[its not]  it is called 'redwood'

This bubbly liquid formed a extremely wild mixture of botryoidal forms and patterns.

Interesting as a collectors item.
