FOSSIL GEMSTONE
This is a natural specimen from Coober Pedy which was a shell fossil. You can make out the shell appearance of the high dome and undulating side. Millions of years ago Australian outback was covered inland-sea. These stones are a part of the skin of a shell fossil that was opalized. The shell is from the Cretaceous period over 100 million years ago. The stones follow the contours of the shell so they are undulating. Showing strong firey colours of
