A large and beautiful natural Mexican opal in rhyolite matrix from the
Queretaro mining district. Also known as "Cantera de opalo" which is
Spanish for matrix opal, it displays bright flashing fire from a deep
pool of transparent brown tinted opal. Cut into an oval shaped cabochon
measuring approx. 18.5x12.5 mm and , it weighs approx. 21.18 carats. A
nice gemstone for the collector or jewelry designer.
