INDONESIAN WOOD FOSSIL OPAL SPECIMEN
This is a piece of natural opal polished i purchased on my last trip to Banten. It is a opalized wood fossil and a top specimen.
This stone is volcanic in origin. It is a common practice here for sellers to put baby oil on the stone but we have wiped it dry. i believe they do that as the finish on most stones isnt high and it does hide pits ect. This material has been treated by heating in sand with oil
This materiel loves strong sunlight-it a dim light there is very little colour play.The video was taken under halogen lights.
