This is a natural untreated rough opal pair from the Yowah opal field which is known for its opal formed in nodules called opal nuts. This is a ironstone boulder nut sliced open to exposé the color in side.The miners say that only one in a thousand has a gem inside and many are sliced open with no opal inside.
