Unusual Mexican Opal
Superb colours in any light
White base colour
A very unusual stone
No cracks or crazing. stable, held for three years.
No RESERVE
Mexican Opals are quite different to Australian Opals. They display their best colourplay under strong artificial lighting or natural sunlight, under which conditions their beauty is unrivalled. For these reasons, Mexican Opal prices can go up in the summer months! High grade Mexican Opal can show good colourplay in lower lighting conditions. Cabs show their colour best when black backed.
The pictures, unless otherwise specified, are taken under artificial lighting and the stone will generally look better than the photo in natural sunlight. I will try to describe how representative the photograph is of the stone’s appearance on each listing so please read the listing fully before you bid. The photographs can vary considerably with respect to the actual appearance of the stone.
I have saved the best for last and probably will not list much more. Many thanks to all.

PositiveWonderful Opal and tremendous communication from seller- who is extremely knowledgeable. Opal arrived in record time and looks even more spectacular in reality. Delighted with purchase- thank you so much.

Why are users outbidding themselves?
When a bid is placed, this is the maximum amount a person is willing to bid for the product. Our system will then automatically bid on behalf of the bidder, incrementally increasing the bid up to the maximum to maintain their position as the highest bidder.
When there is an icon indicating 'Automatic Bid', it means our system is actively placing bids for the bidder based on their maximum bid. This may appear as if bidders are outbidding themselves, but it's simply a result of the system updating the bid to reflect the bidders maximum limit.
