We are a family company who love opal and have loved sharing its beauty with the world for over 40 years of combined experience in opal mining, jewellery manufacture and online sales.
These opalised bivalve shell pieces in their cretaceous shale host rock were recently mined by our company on the Halfway Hill opal field 27 kilometres north of Coober Pedy Australia.
Video of our family mining company Grace Opal discovering these very pieces at 2:43 : https://youtu.be/aShG-hTOE90
Item Specifics:
WEIGHT: 96 grams (total including host sandstone).
DIMENSIONS: 72 mm by 45 mm by 40 mm thick.
The main precious crystal opal pieces measure around 32 mm by 20 mm.
BRIGHTNESS: A stunning red green multicolor crystal 5 out of 5 on the opal fossils.
FEATURES: Naturally defined bivalve opal shells in selenite and highly weathered bulldog shale, with unknown amounts of said crystal gem fossil running through the piece as evidenced by visible protrusion through to underside.
We do not sell opal simulants of ANY sort. All of our opal is 100% guaranteed Natural Australian Opal.
The color variations in the photos are due to different light angles, distances and backgrounds. All of our auctions are photographed with macro settings under a halogen lamp. We try to create a true as possible representation of the stones you will receive.
Please check the dimensions carefully as the opal will not be as big in your hand as it looks on your monitor! Also some monitor settings will cause white based opal to look darker than it actually is. Please check the description carefully before bidding and view your opal in sunlight or in a dark room with a direct light source ie: desk lamp, down light etc. (As photographed and practiced throughout the opal industry).
