-This shape resulted from the intent to keep together two otherwise separate patches of play of colors. Traditional cutting would have resulted in 2 separate small cabochons.
-In my opinion it is more suitable for a pendent, but its play of color is nice also when viewed as a ring.
-Body Tone slightly vary according to light source from N.4 to N.5 as seen in the photographs.
-Being carved at different levels ,the thickness up to 2.7/3.2 mm
Natural Opal-Type - 1 (Solid)
Origin: Lightning Ridge. Australia
Body tone: Black opal N. 4. Opaque material
Colours: Primary: yellow- Secondary: -red- green -blue
Brightness: Good.
Directionality: Moderately directional.
Pattern: Broad flecks.
Polishing: Excellent up to 10x.
Clarity: Black potch on face.
Treatments: No treatment. No cracks.
