This is a natural stone mined in Lightning ridge.It was cut off from a named stone the red cosmos and its best suited as a pendant as its double sided. The stone red cosmos was a 735 ct red opal listed in len crams opal book on Lightning ridge opal on page 345-it was reported to have been sold to a buyer in Dubai for app 1 million aud-the reason it was cut off was that there was a white potch line which detracted from the main body. I CALLED IT "BOOMERANG'
