This is a natural opal matrix found in Andamooka South Australia and treated with sugar only so it makes it blacker. This stone has a natural polish with no resin used to polish it.
We don't use and acid to treat our andamooka material.
The colours bought out by the treatment are stunning. It does not alter the opal but blackens the back ground so the opal can be highlighted.
