INDONESIAN WOOD FOSSIL OPAL STONE
This is a piece of natural opal polished I purchased on my last trip to Banten.It is a opalized wood fossil and a top specimen.
This stone is volcanic in origin. It is a common practice here for miners to heat the rough in sand to remove the clay which sticks to the rough and when polished they add a resin to get a better finish as it hides pits etc.
This materiel loves strong sunlight-it a dim light there is very little colour play.The video was taken under halogen lights.
Top collectors stone.
Note the polish is not good and this stone could be improved by more polishing.
