INDONESIAN OPAL SPECIMEN
This is a piece of natural opal i purchased on my last trip to Banten. This material is not suitable for cutting and best as a specimen. On the body tone scale the rating for this material is N2 so its quite naturally dark. This material has been treated by heating in sand with oil Note .I have cut many treated specimens in half and the black potch is all through the stone so i dont believe the treatment is too successful. .
