CANDY STRIP OPAL ROUGH
This is a natural untreated rough sliced specimen from Utah USA.It is also known as bacon opal due to its intersting strips of assorted colours-this is quite a collectors item.It takes a good polish.We have some polished pendants in this store.
Hydrated Silicon Dioxide (SiO2·nH2O)
Weight 47.50 cts app
Size 45 x 15 x 9 mm app
The quality varies quite a bit. Most is in layers of honey brown and
cream (hence bacon) but other hues occur including purple and red.
Almost none of it shows the mixed flash of precious opal, but it is an
