Black Opal Scarab

Insipred by the classic scarab motif from ancient Egypt.

*The scarab was a symbol of the god Khepri (ḫprr - scarab beetle) and represents creation and reincarnation in the context of the sun and seasons. It was a popular motif worn as an amulet or set in a ring, symbolizing protection of health, life, renewal, and the afterlife.

Some of the most famous Khepri artifacts are the pectorals of Tutankhamun. One scarab is made of ancient desert glass and the other of Lapis Lazuli...

but even the Pharaoh did not have a black opal scarab like this one

the opal has some violet-blue fire

the fire isn't strong but it's quite nice in *normal daylight (not in direct sunlight)
