OPAL EARRINGS

This is a doublet opal made from natural crystal from Coober Pedy and backed on to ironstone from Queensland to look like expensive black opal. There is also a stunning round natural doublet at the top to enhance the jewelery.

The workmanship and quality is excellent.

Our jewelery manafacturing is contracted out to one factory in asia where i supply both the silver and stones to be set.This gives me control of the quality of both the silver and stones.

WHAT IS A DOUBLET ?

Doublets consist of two layers adhered together with glue:

1. A thin     slice of opal (normally transparent crystal ). The thickness of the opal     in a doublet can vary, however it is generally thicker than the opal found     in a triplet.
2. A black     backing which is made of either black glass, natural black potch     (common opal), hard plastic or natural brown ironstone
