Folks I have for you one Opalised Belemnite from Coober Pedy that containts the most rich, brilliant reds that I have seen. There is no belemnite for sale on the internet with as much red as this one.
She weighs 14.65 carats and measures a massive 30 x 12 x 7.3mm thick.
Its hard to believe this is the Opalized remains of an ancient Squid type creature but it is. That is why the colors are so rich. Belemnites, aka pipes or squid contain the most luscious colors of all Opal and you can see why they are highly prized by collectors. This beauty has the broadest flash of red of any Belemnite I have seen.
I dont think I will ever have another so good for this price.
