So, I'm kind of out of my element here. I don't have much experience with boulder opal, so it's definitely not my best work. That said, I do think it turned out to be quite unexpectedly beautiful! I of course went with a free-form shape, and the only polishing this stone got was a good rub down with a 14,000 grit nova. There is quite a bit of color on both sides of this stone, and the tribal patterns are quite nice. Would make a lovely addition to any collection, and it might be the only boulder opal I ever cut!
