Mexican Opals are quite different to Australian Opals. They display their best colourplay under strong artificial lighting or natural sunlight, under which conditions their beauty is unrivalled. For these reasons, Mexican Opal prices can go up in the summer months! High grade Mexican Opal can show good colourplay in lower lighting conditions.
