Dark based crystal opal. Extremely pretty stone! One of my all time favourites. I'm a very fussy when it comes to opal as I've handled so much over the years. the more you have seen the more fussy you become.
This stone blazes with fire from bright sun to LED to shaded light. I took the video in the dark under LED and took the photos in shaded natural light so you can get an accurate idea about the color play.
Black opal seems to show it's colors in all lighting types and conditions where some white base opal bleaches out in full sun or LED. Every opal seems to have it's own character and I love this one as one of the best.
