Opal may contain cracks. Please study pictures and video carefully.

Once the opal has been worked / altered in any way or put in water it can not be returned.

Ethiopian Opal cutting tipps:

• In my experience, best results are achieved if the opal is cut and polished in one go - don't let it dry before you're finished. This will reduce cracking.

• Once you're finished, let it dry very slowly to prevent cracking. I suggest to place it in a Ziploc bag for at least 1 to 2 days after you're finished with the stone.
