Materials used are Coober Pedy Crystal Opal and a piece of Muonionalusta Meteorite. The Muonionalusta Meteorite impacted the earth hundreds of millions of years ago near the northern Scandanavian river Muonio. This piece beautifully displays the 'Widmanstatten' pattern which is unique to meteorites. The pattern is due to a crystal lattice formation created by millions of years of slow cooling whilst travelling through space. The pattern is a shallow etch which has to be re-etched after working, which shows it is an authentic piece of Meteorite. The pendant has been coated with a hard U.V resin to protect against rust. Silver bail is detachable.
