This field is 4.5 hours north of our base in Lightning ridge.As we have some miner friends there we visit the town often and can offer you stock straight from the mine.This  opal field is known for its rich chocolate ironstone with intruging patterns.In asia it is a practise to heat the stone and rub ironstone powder in to any cavaties. Then you apply super glue to it and  then finish polishing it.You can get the powder by rubbing down a piece of material on your grinding wheel and saving the slurry on the bottom of the tray and letting it dry out.

Of course you can polish it as it is and have a  intruging natural look.
