This matrix opal has a galaxy pattern displaying blue, green, and red colors. the opal was heat treated with sugar water and heat to darken the host material and enhance the color play. all of the opals in my shop are finished to a 3000 grit wheel before i polish them with cerium oxide on a 14000 felt wheel.
