My name is Lee, and every opal in this store is cut by me.  I am a formaly trained Goldsmith who has been cutting opals for his own designs for several years.

As a Goldsmith, I have a unique perspective on opal cutting.  All of my opals are cut for appearance, but also for ease of setting.  All of my opals have flat backs and chamfered edges.  My opals can all be set easily in bezel settings or custom flat back prong settings.

Even though all of my opals are cut for maximum ease of setting, I make few compromises on appearance.  I will not offer any opal that I myself would be disappointed to receive.

To that end, I have made every effort to provide accurate pictures, videos and descriptions.  You can be confident that you will receive an opal that is at least as good as the pictures and videos.

All of my opals are untreated.  Most of my Ethiopian opals have been out of the ground and in my posession for at least a couple of years before cutting.  My opals are as stable as a natural, untreated Ethiopian opal can be.

This offering is a classic multi color, semi crystal Ethiopian opal that is compaible with virtually any orientation.  This means this opal may be used as a pendant or ring stone.  Opal weighs 2.46 carats.  The reserve is under $50 USD per carat.
