INDONESIAN ROUGH OPAL

This is a piece of natural rough opal i purchased on my last trip to Banten. Indonesia direct from the miner.
This opal is volcanic in origin and is showing mainly red fire..
It is common for the miner to oil there opal but we have wiped it off.The miner has pre cleaned and shaped the rough. This will be a challenge to cut as there can be under cutting due to the different hardness in the opal /sand ect.
You can cut it natural or you can use a resin/super glue to get a smooth finish..

We have taken a photo of the stone dry to show the colour.
Note this opal loves strong sunlight to looks its best.
