Nice, large example of an Ethiopian Opal. Decently strong color play at about a 3.5 out of 5 in intensity. I polished this stone myself with a full diamond polish up to 100,000 grit. A lot of Opals you buy online don’t have the best polish. They don’t use a full diamond polish and they often leave bits of dirt on the surface of the stone. While this stone does have a touch of dirt on the reverse, the face of the stone is perfect. And the proportions are nice. Not blocky or oddly shaped like many Opals you buy online.
I took pictures of this Opal in high magnification and full sunlight to give you the best idea of its color play and quality. As a certified gemologist I can verify that the above description is accurate and that this Opal/Opals have been tested in the gem lab to verify identity and natural origin.
