Have you ever wanted to visit the areas in Australia that produce the famous Black Opal? Treasures Auctions network is pleased to announce a tour of the outback for all members who would like to join us. Come and meet the people who mine, cut and sell opals through Opal Auctions. You are invited to attend two of the biggest Opal shows in Australia that take place at the end of July 2015.
Our Verified Sellers from both Opal Auctions and Gem Rock Auctions will host demonstrations, informational sessions as well as tours of opal fields. There will be fossicking expeditions and you can learn to cut your very own opal. We certainly wont forget to entertain you with organised outings, dinners and plenty of socialising.
Winter is an ideal time to come down under and visit some Aussie opal shows. The Lightning Ridge Opal show will be held from the 30th July to 2nd August. Following that show, there will be a second show on the Gold Coast on the 6th and 7th of August.
This year the International Opal Jewellery Design Awards Association will hold it’s International Jewelry competition. This always brings a lot of overseas buyers to this outback town so it will be a good year to visit
Accommodation is booked out so we would hire campervans and drive 9 hours from Gold Coast to Lightning Ridge.

Held at the QT hotel in Surfers Paradise it is a great place to come and relax. There are opal dealers from all over the country showing off their precious stones.
During your free time the Gold Coast has so much to offer. It is Australia’s number one tourist destination. Famous beaches, a glittering night strip and theme parks, it is one of the most popular destinations to visit.
Fly into either the Brisbane or Gold Coast airport Australia around the 27th -28th July
If flying into Brisbane make your way to the Gold Coast via the train.
Stay in a Hotel in Surfers Paradise
29th July - Drive to Lightning Ridge, New South Wales. This is approximately a 9 hour drive so we will leave early in the morning to avoid traffic and make sure we are not driving in the dark as we approach Lightning Ridge
30th July - Lightning Ridge Opal Show starts. Free time to look around, shop and chat to the locals
31st July – Take a tour to some of the famous opal fields including Cochran and Sheepyards
1st August - Visit The Chambers of the black hand, a famous and unique tourist attraction.
2nd August - Drive back Gold Coast
3rd August – Rest day on the Gold Coast. Visit the beautiful beaches, theme parks or just relax in the hotel.
4th & 5th August - Visit Opal Auctions and Gem Rock Auctions Head quarters.
Take a tour through our Museum with some of the most amazing opal specimens that have ever been found. It has taken a lifetime to collect so many rare artifacts and they are all showcased under one roof at the Gold Coast Opal and Gem Center.
We will have an opal Cutting demonstration from two leading black opal cutters and sellers on Opal Auctions.
