SEDA ROUGH OPALS

This is a untouched opal rough parcel direct from the miner in lightning ridge.This miner sunk a hole down and bottomed on opal so that why it has the opal dirt [soft claystone] still attached which is quite rare. We have not rubbed it down so there is a chance of a nice stone for you to discover.

This rough mined in Lightning ridge from a opal field called allawah.

Some of this material has black centres but you cant tell until you rub it. .

How do we value our rough?? After 30 years experience of rubbing down and cutting thousands of opal we value the rough as what we believe it will cut-However you are dealing with nature so some stones will come out worse than i expect-if you are dissapointed with your experience please let us know so we may be able to rectify it.

SEDA ROUGH OPALS is run by Paul Sedawie of Seda Opals. 8 opals can be combined in the one shipping if bought with in 7 days. The Seda Opal company was incorporated in 1994.The owner Paul sedawie is the current president of the OPAL ASSOCIATION INC. Seda Opals is an abbreviation from our surname Sedawie. The business is mainly wholesale and it is through this site that we can bring the opal fields and the bargins direct to you. Paul Sedawie started mining at the Four mile field in Lightning Ridge in 1986 with his first partner Bob Young. It took them 6 months to find a decent stone and this experience gave me a healthy respect for the stone and how hard it is to find. Previous to mining opal, Paul ran a successful mail order business in plants for 7 years which gave him a lot of experience servicing customers through parcel post. We use mainly Australia post as it has a excellent reputation for delivery to most parts of the world. I don't do any active mining now but my eldest son Peter Sedawie has taken over. This leaves me free to travel to any opal field and to enjoy the beauty of this magnificent stone. We hope you enjoy our stock and good luck with your biding.
