MATRIX ROUGH

This is a natural piece of boulder matrix from Opalton Queensland Australia.The miner has pre shaped this rough so he has exposed the colour.This material has precious opal embedded in the ironstone and usually is easy to get a top polish on.As the opal is through the stone it is easier to polish than boulder opal which may have only a thin colour bar on top.It should be fun to cut this stone.You can cut stones from it make beads or do some interesting specimens or carvings.
