THIS IS A NATURAL OPAL FOUND IN THE KORIOT AND YOWA OPAL FIELDS.IT IS FOUND IN A THICK BAND OF SANDSTONE WITH SILICA WITH THE FAMOUS OPAL NUT KERNELS IN THEM.THE PRECIOUS OPAL IS SWIRLED AROUNG THE NUT AND SOME TIMES THEY FILL THE CENTRE WITH OPAL. ON THE FIELD WE CALL IT THE BISCUIT BAND.[OR YOU COULD CALL IT “COOKIE BAND”]THE OPAL NUTS ARE SURROUNDED BY SANDSTONE WHICH IS HARD TO POLISH.IN THE PHOTOS YOU WILL SEE SOME PITTING BUT AS A JEWELLERY PIECE WORN YOU WONT NOTICE IT.WE HAVE GIVEN THIS STONE A PROFESSIONAL POLISH ON BOTH SIDES.THE LEATHER LIKE STRAP IS ADJUSTABLE. BOULDER MAGIC is run by Paul Sedawie of Seda Opals.The Seda Opal company was incorporated in 1994. The owner Paul Sedawie is the current president of the OPAL ASSOCIATION INC. S We did have a retail shop at the gold coast opal and gem centre on the gold coast but we closed it down. The business is mainly wholesale and it is through this site that we can bring the Opal fields and the bargains direct to you. Paul Sedawie started mining at the Four mile field in Lightning Ridge in 1986 with his first partner Bob Young. It took them 6 months to find a decent stone and this experience gave me a healthy respect for the stone and how hard it is to find. t. We use mainly Australia post as it has a excellent reputation for delivery to most parts of the world. I don't do any active mining now but my eldest son Peter Sedawie has taken over. This leaves me free to travel to any opal field and to enjoy the beauty of this magnificent stone. We hope you enjoy our stock and good luck with your biding
