My Name is Kenneth Davis I am an Antakirinja and Lower Southern Arrernte male, who grew up in Oodnadatta and Coober Pedy and found his passion for opal when i started dating my long term partner, Kelsey Reynolds in 2015. Kelsey introduced me to her Father, a local opal mining legend in Coober Pedy called Paul Reynolds. Paul introduced me to the opal industry and how it is mined, classing the opal, selling it to the national and international opal buyers and most recently through the family business in Coober Pedy, the retail side of opal jewellery. I started cutting opal professionally when i purchased my first opal cutting machine during Covid outbreak in 2020. Since then I have cut and polished hundreds of stones and have sent them off to be set into the finish product you see on this website. I chose the name Wonambi Opals because in my native tongue the meaning “Wonambi” means Rainbow Serpent. I am based in the Opal Capital of the World, Coober Pedy. On my page you will find opals sourced from Australian Opal Mining fields from towns such as Lightning Ridge, Mintabie, Andamooka and Coober Pedy. My Partner and I wish to show the world the beauty in opals and the history in Opal Mining. Please take a look at our jewellery line on our website and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
