This black crystal nobby long oval shaped stone has a nice cabochon that is ideal for a ring. It displays a variety of colours, with red being most dominant. Turquoise and purple are also present. The back of the stone has a little sandstone but the colour is so dense one can hardly see through the stone and its presence doesn’t affect the stone’s quality at all.

I was considering grading it as N2 due to the density of the colour mass being rich and velvety. Flashes of red dominate this memorable stone, with orange and blue following in suit.

At just over $2000 per carat I doubt this calibre of opal will remain on the site for long.
