THIS IS A NATURAL OPAL FOUND IN THE KORIOT AND YOWA OPAL FIELDS.IT IS FOUND IN A THICK BAND OF SANDSTONE WITH SILICA WITH THE FAMOUS OPAL NUT KERNELS IN THEM.THE PRECIOUS OPAL IS SWIRLED AROUNG THE NUT AND SOME TIMES THEY FILL THE CENTRE WITH OPAL. ON THE FIELD WE CALL IT THE BISCUIT BAND.[OR YOU COULD CALL IT “COOKIE BAND”]THE OPAL NUTS ARE SURROUNDED BY SANDSTONE WHICH IS HARD TO POLISH.IN THE PHOTOS YOU WILL SEE SOME PITTING BUT AS A JEWELLERY PIECE WORN YOU WONT NOTICE IT.WE HAVE GIVEN THIS STONE A PROFESSIONAL POLISH ON BOTH SIDES.THE LEATHER LIKE STRAP IS ADJUSTABLE.
