This is a very nice parcel of faced Lightning Ridge Black Opal at a very affordable price. These pieces need further work you see.

Lightning Ridge Black Opal is perhaps the most popular and seems to cut a premium. You dont need a big stone to cut a lot of carat value with LRB thats for sure.

This is a mixture. The obvious standout is the large piece. The color is thin but very dark and solid, I can see two very good sized Opals from either end of this piece, or you could leave it whole. No matter what you decide, this piece should pay for the parcel.

A lot of people like faced/rubbed material because then you can see what you are getting. it costs more this way but removes much of the risk.
