BOULDER ROUGH “QUARTZ’
This is a natural untreated rough specimen from the Quartz mine in Queensland that was mined over 30 years ago. This is opal that has formed in the biscut [sandstone] band. There will be some faults in the stone due to its age but the area is known for the amount of silica in the sandstone which will take a decent polish.you may have to leave some pit holes in the stone but it will be a rewarding experience for you.
I dont believe any more mining has been done in this area so it will make a interesting stone.

Using a jewellers magnifying glass really brings this stone to life. I will treasure this piece. Thank you.
Stunning piece. Big respect to the miners who risk their lives to show people like myself the true beauty of Australian Opal. Thank you.
Great piece of ancient Australian geology. Thank you.
