Boulder Pipe Opal Rough
This is a natural stone mined in Queensland. Some of the pipe opal has natural fractures in it. It is found in a long cylinder/pipe shapes in the sandstone so there is usually no iron stone present. The host rock is sand stone so you need to spend time on it to get a good polish. These voids may be hollow or filled with opal and some times wood fossil replacement is found. This mine has a mixture of wood fossil and pipe opal found together so there may be some over lapping.
