This is superb gem grade doublet opal. It is made using select, gem grade Lightning Ridge cystal opal on black potch backing.
The colour play is vibrant, electric peacock green and blue. The colours flash and interchange within the pattern segments as you move the opal. Consistent colour play from all angles and extremely bright in subdued lighting.
Solid opals of this quality are extremely rare, this doublet opal is priced a fraction of the solid opal value.
