THIS SLAB OF ROUGH ORIGINATES FROM THE KORIOT OPAL FIELD IN QUEENSLAND. THE FIELD IS KNOWN FOR ITS OPAL NUTS AND AMAZING PATTERNS WITH NATURAL CHOCOLATE IRONSTONE. THIS STONE CAN BE CUT OR KEPT AS A SPECIMEN. SOME CUTTERS PREFER TO HEAT THE STONE THEN RUB IRONSTONE POWDER OVER THE CAVITIES AND COVER IT WITH SUPER GLUE BEFORE POLISHING. OTHERS PREFER THE STONE'S NATURAL FINISH.
