FAIRY OPAL SPECIMEN
This is a natural precious opal embedded in sandstone and mined in Queensland. In the rough this is a creamy coloured sand stone which when you wet it you see flecks of colour. As with most Australian opals red is the rarest colour with blue /greens more common in fairy opal. It has been treated with sugar only and no acid is used to look like expensive black opal.It has been treated with a resin which gives a amazing polish. The treatment is permanent. The stone can be kept as a specimen which would look great on a desk or you could cut it up into smaller stones but you would need to re treat-deatils under fairy opal rough.
