INDONESIAN WOOD FOSSIL OPAL SPECIMEN

This is a piece of natural rough opal i purchased on my last trip to Banten. This material is not suitable for cutting and best as a specimen. . On the body tone scale the rating for this material is N2 so its quite naturally dark. This material has been treated by heating in sand with oil Note .I have cut many treated specimens in half and the black potch is all through the stone so i dont believe the treatment is too successful. .

We have taken a photo of the stone with no water

VOLCANIC OPALS is run by Paul sedawie of Seda Opals. The Seda Opal company was incorporated in 1994.The owner Paul sedawie is the current president of the OPAL ASSOCIATION INC .Seda Opals is an abbreviation from our surname Sedawie. The business is mainly wholesale and it is through this site that we can bring the opal fields and the bargins direct to you. Paul Sedawie started mining at the Four mile field in Lightning Ridge in 1986 with his first partner Bob Young. It took them 6 months to find a decent stone and this experience gave me a healthy respect for the stone and how hard it is to find. Previous to mining opal, Paul ran a successful mail order business in plants for 7 years which gave him a lot of experience servicing customers through parcel post. We use mainly Australia post as it has a excellent reputation for delivery to most parts of the world. I don't do any active mining now but my eldest son Peter Sedawie has taken over. This leaves me free to travel to any opal field in the world and to enjoy the beauty of this magnificent stone. We hope you enjoy our stock and good luck with your biding We have a retail shop/museum at the Gold Coast Opal and Gem Centre 25 surfers av mermaid waters Qld Australia .4218 open mon to sat 10 to 5

Why are users outbidding themselves?

When a bid is placed, this is the maximum amount a user is willing to bid for the product. Our system will then automatically bid on that users behalf, incrementally increasing the bid to maintain their position as the highest bidder, up to the specified maximum.

When there is an icon indicating 'Auto Bid,' it means our system is actively placing bids for the user based on their maximum bid. This may appear as if users are outbidding themselves, but it's simply a result of the system updating the bid to reflect the users maximum limit.

Audit

The Opal Sheriff program allows our members to request an audit on any product, which is completed by an independent Gemologist who assesses the accuracy of the item description and pictures.
