The business is mainly wholesale and it is through this site that we can bring the opal fields and the bargins direct to you. Paul Sedawie started mining at the Four mile field in Lightning Ridge in 1986 with his first partner Bob Young. It took them 6 months to find a decent stone and this experience gave me a healthy respect for the stone and how hard it is to find. Previous to mining opal, Paul ran a successful mail order business in plants for 7 years which gave him a lot of experience servicing customers through parcel post. We use mainly Australia post as it has a excellent reputation for delivery to most parts of the world. I don't do any active mining now but my eldest son Peter Sedawie has taken over.
