The Australians left a great legacy, taught our miners and lapidaries the art of prospecting, extracting and polishing opals. Our opals have a great advantage over the others, due to their formation 60 million years ago, during the Cretacio, they reach high hardness and low water % in their composition, being more resistant and stable.
